Each day, BloodSource employees carefully monitor blood supplies in more than 40 hospitals from Merced to the Oregon border. Hospital inventories and the supply on hand at each of the BloodSource centers are constantly rotated to ensure that blood components are used before their expiration dates. These inventories are also compared with blood donor appointments, donor blood types, and blood component collections to determine what types of donors need to be called to meet the needs of the patients we serve.
