Giving blood is safe, easy and takes just about an hour.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. When you arrive at the blood drive, your first 20-30 minutes will involve registration and review of your medical history. Temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and blood iron levels are then checked. Actual blood donation takes about 5-7 minutes, followed by a 15 minute rest and refreshment period.
