BloodSource blood donors give hope to accident victims, surgery patients, cancer patients and many others in need. Someone in the U.S. receives a blood transfusion every two seconds, however, less than 10 percent of eligible donors actually give. 700 donations a day are needed to serve patients just in our community hospitals. Blood donors must weigh 110 pounds or more, be in good general health and must be 17 years old or older (16 with a signed BloodSource parental consent form). When you give blood, yes, you do save lives.
